On the way, we visit Beaufort, known for its southern hospitality, and enjoy the scenic waterfront charm, quaint shops and historic homes. Late this afternoon we arrive at the romantic Victorian-style Jekyll Island Club Hotel, our home for the next two nights. The Jekyll Island Club was originally built as an exclusive island getaway for the Rockefeller and Vanderbilt families. (B, D)
